Darrell Eugene Bryant

Darrell Eugene Bryant, age 64, passed away on August 18, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  He was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of the late Doris Shillingburg and Larry Shillingburg who survives.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandkids.  He was never one to turn down a trip to a fish camp, an afternoon nap, or a glass of bourbon. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Shasta Smith (Chris Smith), Christopher Bryant (Joely Bryant), and Ricky Bryant (Angleica); his siblings: Donna Wells, Nancy Mashburn, and Wayne Bryant, as well as his grandchildren: Aubrey (11), Carson (11), Raelyn (9), Easton (6), and Asher (5). 

The family will greet guests from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 23, 2023 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.  A graveside service to celebrate his life will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project: 7020 A.C.
