Darren Antonio Machado, 33, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was born in Gastonia, NC, son of Samuel Antonio Machado and Vickie Buffin Machado. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Victor Pete Buffin and Rosie Mae Miller Buffin.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Machado is survived by his wife, Kimberly Sheyanne Lowder; his children, Bella, Xander, and Angie; his brother, David Lee Lawson; his paternal grandparents, Sam and Nancy Mudd; his aunt, Debra Johnson (Keith); his uncles, Bryant Mudd (Heather), Eric Mudd, and Shawn Mudd; and a number of other, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Machado will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Pastor Raymond Johns will officiate. The family will greet guests from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
