David Eugene Mitchem, Sr.

David (Bull) Eugene Mitchem, Sr., 70, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late David Oates Mitchem and Anna Coley Mitchem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Eugenia Mitchem; his sisters, Gaytonia Smith and Nadine Smith; and his brothers, Jimmy Mitchem and Norman (Joe) Mitchem.

Mr. Mitchem is survived by his sons, David Mitchem, Jr. (Jackie), Chris Mitchem, and Michael Mitchem (Rita); his grandchildren, Shelby Mitchem, Peyton Mitchem, Lee Mitchem (Hannah), Sheay Mitchem, Braden Mitchem, Haily Stephenson, Cason Mitchem, Chuck Deaton, Amber Deaton, and Stephanie Evans; his great-grandchildren, Francis, Easton, Layla, Adriana, Nathaniel, Andrew, Zachariah, Jordan, Naomi, Braden, and Ansley; his sisters, Darlene Holloman (Gary), and Tina Tessenar (Mike); his brothers, Bobby Mitchem (Donna) and Danny Mitchem; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Mitchem will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
