David Miles Rhyne Jr.

David Miles Rhyne Jr. age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.  He was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of the late David Rhyne Sr., and Bessie Sherrill Rhyne.  He was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stanley, and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War.  He retired from Norfolk Southern after many years of service and was active in the Gaston County Meals on Wheels program during retirement.   Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Heather Soli (Greg), Justin Rhyne, Debbie Rhyne Blankenship (Grant), Juli Rhyne Ward (Bill), and Jamie Rhyne (David), his sister Reba Rhyne; three grandchildren as well as two great grandchildren.  The family will hold a private service to celebrate his life at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Christ Lutheran Church, Gaston County Meals on Wheels, or to VIA Health Partners (Lincoln Hospice).
