Obituary
Diane Morgan Poteat "Nanny", 79, of Mount Holly, passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, April 27, 2023. She was born in Gaston County to the late Charlie Edward Morgan and Reba Smith Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Poteat, Sr.; siblings, Mike Morgan, Bill Morgan, Iris Morgan, and Bub Clark; daughter, Denise Poteat; grandson, Quinn Poteat; and great grandson, Raidyn Welch. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tonya Poteat, Earl "Skeet" Poteat, Jr., Darlene Poteat, Crissy Morgan, Angel Morgan, and Mike "Boy" Morgan; grandchildren, Scooter, Maranda, Jimmy, Brandi, Toasha, Hannah, Zable, Catrina, Bella, Orlando, Ana-Lily, Iris, Jesus, Jacob, Donnie, Joseph, Cameron, Chelsey, Jordan, Dylan, and Shawn; great grandchildren, Lily, January, Kole, Rieghleigh, Teagan, Bentley, Austyn, Kash, Mia, Tanner, Vallery, Kale, Kooper, Lacy, Judith, Zane, Stephanie, Josias, Kyleigh, and Bellamy; and her siblings, Pete Morgan, Harley Morgan, Carmie Morgan, Lonnie Morgan, Sr., and Jeff Clark.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Poteat will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Centerview Baptist Church, Belmont. Rev. Mark Costner will officiate.
