Dolly Turner Obituary

Dolly Diane Player Turner, 77, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, with her husband by her side. She was born in Lancaster, SC, daughter of the late O'dell Player and Louise Jenkins Player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Player.

Mrs. Turner spent her life educating children. She worked for 10 years in early childhood development before returning to school to be licensed as an elementary school teacher. She educated children in Lancaster, Chester, and Georgetown, SC for 35 years before retiring. During her career she found that helping young children to read was her greatest joy.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband, Robert Charles "Bob" Turner; her children, Lee Ann Myers (Chris), and Chas Turner; her grandchildren, Madison Harper, Natalie Harper Roberts (Grant), Kayla Turner, and Kelsey Turner; her sisters, Cindy Moss, and Candy Honeycutt; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A gathering to celebrate the life of Mrs. Turner will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Belmont Specialty Foods, 35 N. Main St., Belmont, NC 28012. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association by visiting www.alz.org.
