Donald Eugene Muse

Donald Muse, age 79, of Belmont, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 29, 2023.  He was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late Johnny and Etta Dover Muse.   Don was an active member of East Belmont Baptist Church and was also a fixture in the Adams Bluff neighborhood where he developed many friendships with his neighbors.  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and fixing things around his house as well as at his rental properties.  He was retired from Duke Energy after 30 years of service. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Betty Muse, as well as his twin brother Doug Muse.  Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Donald Muse Jr., Kelly Muse and spouse Veronica.; his brother Winn Muse and wife Frankie, his sister Delores Barker; his sisters in law Louise Hamrick, Sherry Riddle, and Shelia Christopher, as well as his beloved 4-legged companion Maddie. 

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday February 3, 2023 at East Belmont Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Taylor officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday also at the Church.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Belmont Baptist Church: 501 Catawba St. Belmont, NC 28012.  Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly.
