Doris Ann Coren

Doris Ann Coren, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2026. She was born on June 23, 1935, in Haywood County, the daughter of Woodrow "Woody" Wilson Hicks and Aileen Towe Hicks.

Doris led a God-filled life and loved Jesus and her family beyond measure. For over 40 years, she shared her gift of music as pianist and organist for North Belmont Church of God, filling countless services with worship that lifted hearts and drew people closer to God. Her faith wasn't just something she practiced on Sundays — it was woven through every part of who she was, quietly steadying everyone around her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marion Jennings "Joe" Coren, who passed on October 4, 1987. Doris carried his memory with grace for nearly forty years.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Davis, and her two grandsons, Austin and Justin Davis, all of whom she loved deeply and without measure. Doris was the devout caregiver of her family, and her devotion to them was constant and unmistakable to everyone who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, at 1:00 PM at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM.
