Doris (Hart) Gates

Doris Hart Gates, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday November 24, 2022 at her home.  She was born in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Summey and Callie Hart.  She was a member of Alexis Baptist Church and attended Stanley schools and went on to graduate from Stanley High School.  She worked as a nurse's aide at Crowell Memorial Hospital in Lincolnton and was also a former employee Talon in Stanley.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Larry Gates, her second husband Charles Curtis, and her siblings: Jeanette Gales, Macy Blakely, Lacy Stroup, Elvy Curtis, Marion Hart, and Ruth Hart.  Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Camilla Weathers (Steven) of Dallas, Cornelia Pressley (Eddie) of Mount Holly, Sarah Gates of Dallas, and Randy Gates (Susan) also of Dallas.  Her grandchildren: Dell Weathers, Christine Richardson (Will) Crystal and Tiffany Gates, Chris, and Justin Holland (Brooke), and Maggie Pressley.  Great Grandchildren: Keely Holland, Heather Richardson, Autumn Huckle, Thomas Richardson, and Raelynn Huckle; as well as her Siblings: Royce Hart, Dollie Haney, and Max Hart.  A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday November 28, 2022 at Alexis Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. also at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Alexis Baptist Church: WMU-Womens Mission at PO Box 39 Alexis, NC 28006.  Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is serving the Gates family.
