Dorothy (White) Stroupe

Dorothy White Stroupe, age 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday November 4, 2024 at Abernathy Laurels Assisted Living. She was born in Milburn, WV, daughter of the late James Granville White and Grace Austin White. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years James Dale Stroupe.

She had a strong faith and was a longtime active member of New Covenant United Methodist Church, and most recently a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Mooresville. In her early years she enjoyed being on the water at Mountain Island Lake. She will be remembered as a talented cook who loved her entire family dearly.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Jana Newsom (Gary). Her siblings: Ardith Pennell, Charlie White, Howard White, Margaret Jones, Nancy Hall, Alice Woodridge, and Lee White. She had three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 on Friday November 8, 2024 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 on Friday also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.
