Earelean Lowery Locklear, age 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday May 31, 2026. She was born in Robeson County, daughter of the late Roscoe Lowery and Nancy Chavis Lowery. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Datery Locklear, as well as her siblings: Donald Chavis, Ree Lowery, Josephine Barton, Roscoe Lowery Jr., Luke Lowery, and Maebella Barton.
She was a longtime active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Charlotte for 42 years where she served her Lord in many different ways including the food bank and fixing refreshments for the men's Sunday school classes. She cherished her brothers and sisters and loved her trips down to Raeford, NC to visit them over the years. In her spare time she loved to make cakes.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Donnie Lockelar (Teresa), Hugh Lockelar, Ginger Wallace, and Zachary Locklear; her siblings: Robert Lowery (Tessie), Lonnie Lowery, and Kathy Jacobs; her grandchildren: Michael Smith, Ashley Locklear, and Eric Locklear, as well as three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday June 4, 2026 at Liberty Baptist Church in Charlotte with Dr. Gary Berry officiating. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service on Thursday also at the Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
