Edward Kempton Kelly

Edward Kempton Kelly , 67 , passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 2, 2024. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Roy William Kelly and Margaret Kempton Kelly. He was also preceded in death by sister and brother in law, Marty and Randy Bryant. 

Mr. Kelly is survived by his loving wife, Susan Montgomery Kelly; his brother, Roy Kelly, Jr. and wife Annabell; his sister, Ann Robinson and husband Randy; daughter, Elizabeth Roberts and husband Stephen; son, Jacob Kelly; daughters, Becky Kelly and Rachel Kelly;  step children, Lindsey and William Pruitt; grandchildren, Mack and Callie Roberts; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kelly loved his family deeply and was always making them laugh. He brought joy to all of those around him. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran, which was an integral part of who he was. Mr. Kelly also leaves behind special companion; golden retriever, Daisy.   

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Kelly will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of choice.
