Elaine Long Lindsey, 74, of Denver, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her home after an extended illness. She was born in Waynesville, North Carolina to the late Leo and Kitty Long of Clyde, North Carolina. Elaine graduated from Clyde High School and UNC - Charlotte. She was a CPA Partner for over 40 years. Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Holly. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 56 years, Billy Lindsey; her daughter, Cheryl Lindsey Nicks (Todd) of Alexis, NC; her grandchildren, Ashley Nicks Ross (Tyler) of Alexis and Aaron Keith Nicks (Lexie Windell) of Alexis; and her great grandchildren, Christopher and Jeremiah Ross. A service to celebrate Elaine's life, with Rev. Mike Davis officiating, will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends at 1:00, until the funeral hour. A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clyde, North Carolina on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. The family extends a special thanks to the team of caregivers from Home Instead of Gastonia, in addition to the Hospice Staff of Novant Health Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Novant Health Hospice.
