Elmer Lee Garrett

Elmer Lee Garrett Jr., age 81. passed away on Monday January 1, 2024.  He was born in Mecklenburg Country and was the son of the late Elmer Garrett Sr. and Carrie Comer Garrett.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the Mother of his children Leona L. Garrett, his former Wife Hazel Garrett, as well as his second cousin Sean Garrett.  Lee was the owner/operator of Machine Control Systems Inc. in Charlotte for 18 years.  In his spare time he enjoyed shooting pool, playing golf with friends, antiquing, going fly fishing, as well as riding his motorcycle on the Blue Ridge Parkway with his son. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Alan Garrett (Rebecca), Shannon Lydon (Richard); Rob Stanfield (Amy), and Jonathan Stanfield; his companion Sandra Vaughn and their four-legged child Boomer; his cousins: Chip Garrett, Celia Garrett Furr, and Patricia Huffstickler, as well as his grandchildren Caleb and Lydia Stanfield.  A service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday January 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday also at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.
