Eugena Gail "Gena" Flowers, 54, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of Stella Furr Wilhoit and the late Raymond Franklin Wilhoit.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Flowers is survived by her husband, Norris Dean Flowers; her children, Toni Williams (Matthew), Roselyn Flowers, and Mia Flowers; and her grandchildren, Isaiah and Tyson Williams.
"Our mother fought with every fiber of her being, every single second of her life. She was born with heart issues that eventually turned into millions of other health problems. Every day was a struggle for her, but she continued to fight for the hope of getting better. The last couple of months of her life were brutal and unforgiving, but alas, she never showed how scared she was until the last couple of days of her life. Our mother never wanted her kids to be scared of what might happen; she gave us hope, and we did everything we could to hold on to that. We decided that in the end, we could not be selfish with her. It was her time to be with the Lord and with her father, Raymond Wilhoit, whom she missed terribly. She is no longer in pain and suffering; she is free of every obstacle, health issue, and the problems life throws at you. We envy you, Mom, and God knows we will be happy to see you again when the time is right." -Her Children
