Stanley,
September 12, 2023, Floyd Gene Hines, Sr. passed away peacefully with the love of his family, ascending to heaven to be reunited with “his girl”, beloved wife Gloria Dean Groves Hines. Floyd was born on April 25, 1928, in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Bert and Nellie May Smith Hines.
Floyd was the 7th of 9 children born to Bert and Nellie May Hines. Drucilla, Ionia, Walter Edward, George Washington, Virginia May, Ruby Glenn, Vernon and Garmon.
On November 21, 1956, he married the love of his life Gloria Dean Groves Hines. Together they raised three sons, Floyd Gene Hines, Jr, Robert Michael Hines and Jeffrey Scott Hines.
Floyd spent most of his life praising and worshipping his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church and South Gastonia Church of God.
Floyd loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was sweet, kind, polite and generous to all who was loved by him.
He was preceded into heaven by his parents, his beloved wife, daughter-in-law Joye Harrison Hines, all eight siblings, many relatives and friends.
Left to mourn the loss of their beloved Father, Father in Law, Grandpa, Papaw; Floyd Gene Hines, Jr, wife Debbie, grandson Mark Cameron, wife Kaylee, great grandchildren Amelia and Stratton, Robert Michael Hines, granddaughter Alexis, grandson Dusty Harrison, wife Tonya, great grandchildren Elijah, Sarah, Gabriel, Sofia and Ezekiel, Jeffrey Scott Hines, wife Teresa, granddaughter Stefani Marie, husband Dr. Neal Kaushal, grandson Matthew Shane Drake, wife Megan, great grandchildren Jalynn, Matthew (Mac), Callahan, Barrett and Gloria Noelle and everyone else he welcomed into his life.

A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday September 15th in the mausoleum chapel of Hillcrest Gardens with Pastor Eddie McGinnis officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
