Frances Louise Finger, 97, formerly of Mt. Holly, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2021 at North Hampton Convalescent Center, Hampton, Virginia. Frances was born August 13, 1923 in Mt. Holly to John Lester Finger and Mollie Cline Finger. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ray L. Finger, and sister, Marie F. Bryant.
Frances was an active member of Mt. Holly First United Methodist Church for 90 years before moving to Virginia. She had a 35-year career with Southern Bell Telephone Co., held offices in the National Secretaries Association and was a member of the NC Telephone Company Pioneers.
Frances had a sweet, caring spirit and was the affectionate aunt to 3 generations of family members who loved her dearly, fondly referring to her as “Francie Lou”. She is survived by her niece, Nina Rae Finger McCoy and husband, Ron; her great niece, Molly Bransford (Eric) & children Carter & William; her great nephew, John McCoy (Christy) & children Madison & Evie.
Our family thanks the staff at Harmony Memory Care, North Hampton Convalescent Center and Virginia Health Hospice for the care they provided Frances in her last years. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Holly First United Methodist Church, 140 North Main St., Mt. Holly, NC or a charity of your choice. A graveside service in honor of Frances’ life will take place at 1:00 pm on June 4, 2021 at Pineview Cemetery, Mt. Holly, NC.
