Gail (Hamrick) Caldwell

Gail Hamrick Caldwell, 79, of Gastonia, NC, passed away in her home on December 28, 2022. She was born on May 22, 1943 to the late Thomas Flay and Daphne Pauline Hamrick of McAdenville, NC. She worked as a teacher’s assistant in multiple Gaston County schools including: North Belmont Elementary School, Gardner Park Elementary School, Cramerton Middle School, and Mt. Holly Middle School for 19 years. She was a devout Christian and a member of Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Glenn H. Caldwell, Jr., daughter Karen Lamphier of Charlotte, sons Steve Caldwell of Gastonia, and Rodney Caldwell and wife Tina of Huntersville, and daughter Jenna Hannahs and husband Brian of Surprise, AZ. Seven grandchildren: Jessie Lin, Brittany Dellinger, Devin and Taylor Lamphier, Jordan, Landon, and Noah Caldwell. Four great grandchildren: Liam, Eli and Maliya Lamphier and Penelope Dellinger. Visitation for Gail will be held from 1:30 to 3 pm on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church located at 113 E Parkwood St, in Stanley, NC, 28164. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 3 pm with Reverend Dr. Danny Penny presiding. The burial will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery located at 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Hwy, Mt, Holly, NC, 28120. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gaston Hospice at PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC, 28054.
