Gene Edwin Pillow

Gene E. Pillow, 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was born in Charlotte, NC, son of the late J. Russell Pillow and Frances Moore Pillow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Justice Pillow; and his brother, Barron D. Pillow. Gene never met a stranger. He loved gardening, canning, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.

Those left to cherish Gene's memory include his children, Amanda Pillow of Mount Holly, Kim Pillow of Mount Holly, and Chris Pillow of Belmont; his brother, Melvin R. Pillow of Mount Holly; his sisters, Ruth DeBello (Fred) of Morrill, TX, Barbara Poteat of Charlotte, and Betty Lou Rush (Jess) of Knoxville, TN; 2 grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Gene and his wife, Sandra, will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the home of Gene's brother, Melvin Pillow, 1404 Old Hwy 27, Mount Holly, NC. Melvin can be reached at 704-913-3340.
