Gloria Jean Pearson Jenkins, 75, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Charles Edgar Pearson and Vera Chapman Pearson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Debbie Deal and Charlie Pearson.
She was the heart of her family, a devoted mother, grandmaw, and great-grandmaw whose love knew no bounds. Her gentle spirit, warm hugs, and endless support will be remembered always. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
Ms. Jenkins is survived by her children, Richard Briggs (Angie), Bobbie Auten (Mike), and Crystal Ginyard (Will); her grandchildren, Amber Briggs, Bryan Briggs (Kayla), Dustin Auten, Savanna Auten, and Brandon Garris (Kay); her great-grandchildren, Addison, Karly, Kody, Braylynn, and Skyler; special uncle, Johnny Chapman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Ms. Jenkins will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Sunset Forest Baptist Church, 903 Hickory Grove Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the church.
