Guy Palmer Thomas, age 82, of Denver, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday June 18, 2024 at Atrium Health in Lincolnton. He was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late Luther and Mary Penley Thomas.
Guy was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country with honor in Vietnam. In his younger years, he loved to play football which led to a lifelong passion for the sport. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served the Lord in many ways. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old cars, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a very charitable man who loved to help others in need.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Betty Thomas, Eddie Thomas, Bud Thomas, and Eula Lambert.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years Dolores Thomas; his son Guy Thomas (Louisa); his grandson Jonathan Thomas, as well as his brother L.T. Thomas.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday June 21, 2024 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. with pastor Randy Setzer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Denver UMC Cemetery.
