Harold Franklin Smith, 84, of Iron Station, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2021. He was born in Lincoln County to the late Alvin Thomas Smith, Sr. and Annie Mae Bynum Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna S. Cash, Prue S. Wright, and Ruth S. Auton; as well as his granddaughter, Megan Miller, and great grandson, Cason Fowler. Harold was a long time member of Alexis Baptist Church. He retired from Duke Energy. After his retirement, he enjoyed the extra time with his family, whom he loved and adored. He enjoyed spending time riding around on his 4-wheeler on his farm. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Barbara, of 64 years; his children, Brad Smith (Deanna), Lea Ann S. Edwards (Al), and Chris S. Miller (Monty); his siblings, A.T. Smith, Jr., Sue S. Lail, and Nancy S. Hoyle; grandchildren Brittany Smith (Chris), Andrea S. Bratt (Landon), Alicia S. Lever (Davis), and Lindsey Miller (Noah); great grandchildren, Peyton and Braylee Fowler, and Coraline Bratt; and his fur baby Maddie. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery, 118 Alexis Church Road, Alexis. Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
