Hazel Waureen Whitlock Arrowood, 90, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. She was born in Rutherford County, daughter of the late Bynum and Pauline Dycus Whitlock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Homer Arrowood; her siblings, Jenny Elder, Linda Lewis, and Loland Whitlock; and her daughter-in-law, Vickie Arrowood.
Mrs. Arrowood is survived by her children, Dennis Arrowood, Ronnie Arrowood (Elaine), Sharon Exline (Danny), and Rev. Randy Arrowood (Sherry); her grandchildren, Melissa Arrowood, Kevin Exline, and Jeffery Arrowood; her great-grandchildren, Kayla Arrowood and Allison Cody; her sister, Judy Laws, her special friend, Marla Henderson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Arrowood will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at First Free Will Baptist Church, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
