Helen Ruth (Hanna) Tallent

Helen Hanna Tallent, 92, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at her home in Alexis, NC. Born on October 13, 1932, Helen lived a long and meaningful life. She found joy in simple pleasures tending to her flower gardens, reading, and exploring her family history. Her love for the outdoors and dedication to preserving family memories were lasting passions that brought her fulfillment throughout the years.

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford Tallent of Franklin, NC; her daughter, Julie Rebecca Burgin of Alexis, NC; her sisters, Mary Sparke of LaGrange, GA., and Betty Norris of Gastonia, NC; her brother, Robert Hanna; and her grandson, Seth Ewing.

She is loving remembered by her two daughters, Kathy Ferguson (Ernest) of Apopka, FL, and Myra Courtney of Gastonia, NC; her son, Paul Tallent (Heather) of Arab, AL; her sisters, Nancy Bishop (Eddie) of Blacksburg, SC, and Phyllis Osborn (Jess) of Maggie Valley, NC; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Celebration of Life for Mrs. Tallent has been postponed. A new service date will be announced at a later date.
