Herbert "Sonny" W. Padgett, Jr., 82, of Gastonia, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. He was born in Brewton, Alabama to the late Herbert W. Padgett and Lemma Muriel Sowell Padgett. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Kathyleen, of 58 years; children, Katrina L. Keogh and her husband, Parry, Melanie K. Murphy and her husband, Jeff, and Herbert Brian Padgett; grandchildren, Ashley Kathryn Finney and her husband Aric, John "Jake" Joseph Keogh IV, and Cullen Padriac Garrett Keogh; great grandchildren, Jayden M. Finney, Vivian Gia Finney, Annabell Murphy Finney, Emily Finney and Maddy Finney; his sister, Liddia Dolores Booker and her husband Ray; nephew, Christopher Booker and a niece, Stephanie Booker Daniels and her husband David. Services for Mr. Padgett will be private and held at a later date in his hometown.
