Horace Morgan Bean

Horace Morgan Bean, age 92, of Belmont, passed away on Saturday June 22, 2024 at his home.  He was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of the late Horace and Lucille Morgan Bean.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Faye Hamilton Bean, as well as his sister Winifred Cash.  

Mr. Bean spent his career in the telecommunications industry beginning with Southern Bell which became AT&T and finished his career working for Universal Data.  He will be remembered as a loving father and husband.  When he wasn't working, he enjoyed playing tennis. He especially enjoyed playing with his friends in Charlotte in Dilworth on Saturdays.  

He is survived by his daughter Donna Bean.  A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 P.M on Tuesday July 2, 2024 at The Lutheran Church of The Holy Comforter in Belmont with Pastor Micah Kearney officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday also at the Church.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Gaston Hospice or to the USO.
