James Clarence Lynch, 97, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. He was born in Habersham County, Georgia, son of the late Epharim Satchel Lynch and Pearl Allen Lynch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth Whitesides Lynch; and his brothers, Robert Lynch, Charles Lynch, and Dewey Lynch.
Mr. Lynch is survived by his daughters, Pat Lewis (Buddy), and Rhonda Dorsey (Dale); his grandchildren, Robert J. Lewis (Jessica), Monica Nixon (Mickey), Aaron Dorsey, and Christin Calvert (Drew); his great-grandchildren, Myrissa Parker (Clint), Keegan Lewis, Nolan Lewis, and Delilah Dorsey; his great-great-grandchildren, Jace Parker and Lane Parker; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lynch, a Veteran of the United States Navy, served in World War II aboard the USS Jouett on D-Day in Normandy. He will be remembered as a faithful Christian and was a member of Goshen Free Will Baptist Church of Mount Holly, previously serving as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher over the years. His family and friends will also remember his passion for fishing and the memories that were made on the water.
The family will greet guests from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Goshen Free Will Baptist Church of Mount Holly. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Lynch will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the church. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
