Jamie Edward Derberry

Jamie Edward Derberry, age 51 passed away on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  He was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late RL and Peggy Cornwell Derberry.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Roy Derberry (Donna), his sister LisaJo Derberry, as well as his brother in law Bart Stone.  

Jamie will be remembered as a loving family man who would go out of his way to help anyone during their time of need.  He was a loving father to his two sons and was a man who never met a stranger. In his early years, he enjoyed playing baseball, listening to dance music, and was an avid dance roller skater alongside his sister.  He also raced ATV's professionally which led to a lifelong passion for motorcycles and anything with a small engine.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Jordan and Zander Derberry; his siblings: Clyde Derberry (Marsha), Bonnie Stone, and Marcie Fritz (Brad); his nieces: Amber Goode, Beth Willocks (Roger), Becca Nguyen (Kevin), and Brooke Stone; as well as his nephews: Zachary Derberry (Sara), Logan Derberry, and several great nieces and great nephews.  

To say that there was never a dull moment when he was around is an understatement.  He never lost his kid spirit.  His energy was unmatched.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Friday June 28, 2024 at Message of Love Church in Belmont with Pastor Jeff Johnson officiating.  The family will recieve friends from 6:15 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. on Friday also at the Church.
