Janet Bishop Obituary

Janet Sue Adcock Bishop, 83, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Sam and Era Walls Adcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Troy Calvin Bishop; and her siblings, Billy, Earl, Robert, Dorothy, and Era Mae.

She was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church where she was involved with the Children's Ministry, Women's Ministry, Hope Ministry, Small Group Ministry, Second Prime, and Celebrate Recovery. She volunteered throughout her life with Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gaston Baptist Association, Billy Graham Library, and spent over 20 years working with the Girl Scouts of America. Mrs. Bishop was recognized as the 1986 Mount Holly Woman of the Year. She loved working with children and serving the Lord.

A thoughtful, caring, and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Mrs. Bishop always ended conversations with one of her favorite sayings: "Remember, God loves you and I do, too."; "I'll see you here, there, or in the air."; or "I love you but God loves you more than you can imagine."
