Janice Elizabeth (Fox) Green

Janice Elizabeth Fox Green, 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. She was born in Murphy, NC, daughter of the late James and Dessie Young Fox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Fox, Carl Fox, Jack Fox, and Ray "Nub" Fox.

Janice was born in Murphy and raised in Belmont. She began her career working in a textile factory in Belmont before attending beauty school and becoming a hairdresser, a role she held until the birth of her third child. She later devoted much of her life to caring for others by running a daycare alongside her daughter, Cindy. She found joy in reading and especially cherished her trips to Gatlinburg and the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Janice was known for her humor, her spunky spirit, and her deep love for her family. She will be remembered for the laughter she brought to those around her and the warmth she shared so freely.

Janice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clifford Ray Green; her children, Cynthia Green Lawing, Kevin Ray Green (Amy), Melissa Green Kerns (Alan), and Hayley Green Dellinger (Nathan); her grandchildren, Rachel Lawing Dawes (Seth), Rebekah Lawing, Patrick Green (Brooke), Nathan Green, Sam Green, Anna Kerns Mooney (Michael), Molly Kerns McClure (Taylor), Raye Kerns Johnson (Andrew), William Dellinger, and Joshua Dellinger; her great-grandchildren, Bethany, Luke, Ella, June, and Harrison; her sister, Joan Carolyn Mathis; her sisters-in-law, Nancy Yerton and Pam Clark (Keith); and a number of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services to celebrate Janice's life will be private.
