Jeanene Roberts Kelly, 65 of Belmont, NC passed away on July 24, 2024 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House. She was born in Bibb County, Georgia and grew up in Jones County, Georgia. She grew up on a farm and loved to play in the creek and ponds. Jeanene was the daughter of the late Guy Roberts and Betty Jean Harper A model, Jeanene modeled in the Atlanta Mart, and then continued work with the Bibb Company corporate office. She moved to Gastonia and was a homemaker and caterer, where she made what was arguable the best chicken pie! She was a member of Southminister Presbyterian Church. Jeanene loved her friends and would give the shirt off her back to any of them.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Kelly Roberts (Stephen) of Gastonia NC; son, Jacob Kempton Kelly of Lake Wylie, SC; sister, Marlene Batchelor of Perry Georgia; grandchildren, Mack and Callie; nieces and nephews, her friends who stood by her side at the end, and two cats she adored, Oakley and Lola, even though she didn't like cats!

A memorial service celebrating the life of Jeanene will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 4:00pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly, NC with the Reverend Doctor Patrick Maloy officiating. Friends are welcome to visit and mingle with the family following the service.
