Jeanette Greene McLaughlin, 86, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 03, 2025. Jeanette was born in Mount Holly on February 03, 1939, the daughter of the late Miley and Alice Flynn Greene. Her siblings; Lunell Christenbury, Charlotte Scott, Betty Armstrong, Sonny Greene, Paul Greene, Marie Warren. Her son-in-law; Edward Kean Bird.
Jeanette attended the Mount Holly Area Schools. She married Philip McLaughlin on March 04, 1956, and made their home in Ralston, Pennsylvania. In earlier years, she was the Justice of Peace and Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a member of the North Central Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Technicians Association as an EMT.
She was an active member of the Ralston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Association serving as an officer and ambulance driver, as well as a member of the Ralston Fire Company Ladie’s Auxiliary team. She was a member of the Ralston United Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler and proud to have bowled more than one perfect game.
Jeanette was a devoted wife and mother with an unwavering dedication to family and friends while touching the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, resilience and love.
In later years, she made her home in Mount Holly and enjoyed going to yard sales (yardsaleing) and negotiating a deal, if even just for a dollar or two. She loved going to Bingo every Thursday night with family and had an uncanny ability to win. She had a love for the beach and traveled to Holden Beach many times a year with her sister Mary. She and her sister Mary also had a love for travel to West Virginia to decorate her daughter’s house.
Jeanette’s spirit and memory lives on in her children: Cassandra McLaughlin Bird, Darrel McLaughlin (Brenda), and Tracy McLaughlin (Tammy); her sisters: Judy Payne and Cecilia Lavely: her grandchildren: Alex Adrian (Jared), Kevin McLaughlin (Desiree), Calob
McLaughlin (Tammy Mae), Christina Byrum (Devin), Carrie Chapman (Jonathan) and Tamela Floyd (Greyson). The love and joy of her life were her great-grandchildren: Evelyn (Evie) Adrian, Ellis Adrian, Addison Byrum and Sadie Mae McLaughlin.
As we gather to honor her memory, family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. A graveside service to celebrate her life will follow at 12:30 pm at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly with Pastor Jonathan Chaney officiating.
In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial in Jeanette’s name, to Holy Angels, a disability service and support organization in Belmont, NC in which her daughter, Stacia, was a member.
