Jerry Lathon Pressley, Jr., 70 passed away at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia on October 3, 2024. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Jerry Lathon Pressley, Sr., and was preceded in death by a brother Michael Pressley, Sr, a sister Marcia Ann Pressley, and grandparents Charlie and Myrtle King and Herman and Lillie Pressley. He was class president of the Mt Holly High Class of 1972, where he was the class Valedictorian, and captain of the football team. He was an avid deer hunter and enthusiast, was a former Pop Warner football coach, and was a member of the Thunderbird Club. Jerry was an Operations Manager and liaison with Duke Energy at the McGuire Nuclear Station.
He is survived by his Mother Barbara King Pressley, his wife Sharyn Kidd Pressley, a daughter Stefanie Pressley Helsel and husband Logan, a step daughter Kristin Ratofsky and husband Mike, a step son Dustin Skidmore and wife Brittany, grandchildren Hannah, Eli, and Paxton, step grandchildren Rush, Jett, and Cruz; his brother, Jeff Pressley, Sr.; his nephews Michael Pressley, Jr, and wife Nikki, Jeff Pressley, Jr., Jacob Pressley, Brandon Pressley and wife Heather, and numerous great nieces and a nephew.
The funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday October 6, 2024, in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly, The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 8 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.
