Joseph Carl Rhyne, 75, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Charles Alexander Rhyne and Betty Kale Rhyne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Earl and Hilda Stone.
Mr. Rhyne had immense pride for his Country and spent 28 years in its service with the U.S. Army. Mr. Rhyne was consumed by his faith and knew that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, listening to music - especially the Beatles, and playing golf.
He was a loving and kind husband, father, and grandfather who cared deeply for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen Stone Rhyne; his children, Alex Rhyne (Trina), and Amanda Rhyne Murray; his grandchildren, Jack Rhyne, Eli Rhyne, and Tyler Murray; his brothers, Charlie Rhyne (Linda), and Steve Rhyne (Patti); and a number of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Rhyne's life will be held at a later date.
