Joyce (Dunn) Gaston

Joyce Elaine Dunn Gaston, 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Kenneth Banks Dunn and Thelma Evelyn Hawley Dunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Theodore "Ted" Gaston, Sr.; and her sister, Sylvia Whitley.

Mrs. Gaston is survived by her children, Sandra Barkley (Whit), John T. Gaston, Jr. (Lori), and Gary Gaston (Andrea); her grandchildren, Matt Ashmore (Tiffany), Heath Barkley (Angela), Lauren Forman (Ben), J.T. Gaston, III (Blair), Spencer Gaston, and Jennifer Clement (Michael); five great-grandchildren; her brother, Ken Dunn (Fern); and her brother-in-law, Max Whitley.

Mrs. Gaston's family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gaston will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont.
