Julie Alice (Barnhart) Novak

Julie Alice Novak, age 49, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. She was born on December 30,1974 in Pennsylvania, grew up in Louisiana, and most recently lived in Charlotte, NC with her partner, Scott Hood.

Julie is survived by her mother, Elaine Hoddinott; father, Richard Barnhart; stepmother, Kathy Barnhart; sister, Linda Lysaught; brothers, Peter Lysaught and Christian Barnhart; step siblings, Whitney Grove and Ryan Barnhart; niece, Arella; and nephew, Jeremy. Ms. Novak is also survived by aunts, Phyl Young and June Will; cousins, Lorraine and Mark; as well as, extended family in the US and Australia.

She is remembered for her big smile and even bigger laugh. She had an impact on everyone she met, with her special way of being able to talk to anyone. She was a huge dog lover, and especially loved Karl and Aerial. She would even talk to them too.

A service to celebrate Julie’s life will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with a visitation beginning one hour prior at 1:00 pm, at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly, North Carolina.
