Kathie Arrowood Obituary

Kathie M. Arrowood, 74, passed away on November 26, 2025 from complications of heart failure. Born on December 24, 1950 in Greensboro, NC, she lived most of her life in the Charlotte area to be near her family, whom she loved deeply. Kathie was affectionately known as “Aunt Kat” to her family and always brought fun, laughter and plenty of sparkle to every gathering. As the youngest of two daughters to the late Troy Raymond Hight and Edith Caroll Hight, she often laughingly referred to herself as the “bad daughter” as compared to her sister Carole as the “good daughter”, and Kathie would say that this allowed her to have a lot more fun! She was always a joyous person, surrounded by many friends and living life to the fullest. She especially loved the Christmas season and truly embodied the Joy of Christmas. Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carole Ray Hiller, her nephew Raymond Earl Hiller, and her beloved husband Neil “Sug” Arrowood. She will be sadly missed by her nephew Mark (& Peggy) Hiller and his children Sara, Anna, Matthew and Abby; her niece Michelle (& Mo) Hiller, and her many wonderful friends and neighbors.

She will always be remembered for her laughter, her fun loving ways, her love of Brighton jewelry, Mary Kay cosmetics, animal print and anything that sparkled; her annual Christmas party, gatherings at the local clubhouse for football and other social events, going to dinner, and for just being a wonderful person to all. We love you, Aunt Kat, and we hope you are together with “Sug” in heaven.

A celebration of life will be held at Kathie’s neighborhood clubhouse on December 21st at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude or the charity of your choice in her honor.
