Kay Hensley Roberts, 77, of Alexis, met Jesus face to face on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Noah and Flossie Hensley. Kay was a devout Christian and was a long-time member of Community Pentecostal Center in Stanley, where she served as past president of the Ladies Helping Hands. Kay had a love for people and became a caretaker for many. She was a good cook and enjoyed sharing her talent with her church members. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Jerry, of 63 years; her daughters, Laura Suddreth (Lee), Mandy York (Mike), Lisa Thompson (Tony), and Ashley Murks; grandson, Jayden Hannah; and her siblings, Teresa Moore (Ronnie), Billy Hensley (Kathy), Bud Hensley (Eunavie), Jerry Hensley (Carolyn), and Doyle Hensley (Pat). The family will greet guests from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at Community Pentecostal Center, 320 Ralph Handsel Blvd, Stanley. A service to celebrate Kay's life will be held immediately following at 1:00, also at the church. Interment will conclude at Hardin Cemetery, Dallas. Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.
