Kelly Melissa Staton Hutchins, 60, of Lowell, NC, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025. Born on March 22, 1965, in Charlotte, NC, Kelly lived a life full of laughter, love, and compassion for others.
A long-time resident of the area, Kelly was best known as the beloved owner of Just Kid’n, a children’s clothing and supply consignment shop that served families in the community for many years. Later in life, she brought her warmth and organizational talents to Levine Children’s Hospital, where she worked as an office administrator.
Kelly was preceded in death by her father, Larry Carl Staton of Mt. Holly, NC. She is survived by her loving children, Jake and Becca Hutchins of Houston, MO, and Lindsey and Brandon Dimmer of Kings Mountain, NC; and her cherished grandson, Mason Dimmer.
She is also survived by her mother, Sandra Little and partner Don Pfieffer of Lowell, NC; her sister, Leslie and husband Eddie Bowman of Stanley, NC; nieces Caroline and Maigan Bowman; and nephews Tate and Seth Bowman.
Kelly found joy in life’s simple pleasures—wildflowers in bloom, music that stirred the soul, and heartfelt conversation with friends and family. She had a talent for making those around her feel welcome, often with nothing more than her bright smile and kind heart. She enjoyed caring for her home, creating through arts and crafts, and soaking up the sun whenever she found herself near the sea.
A graveside memorial service to celebrate Kelly’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Goshen Cemetery in North Belmont. A visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Kelly’s legacy lives on through her family, her friendships, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed.
