Kevin Henderson

Kevin Henderson, age 59, of Huntlynn Acres, Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2020 after having been on life support at Atrium since July 4th. He was born in Henderson, NC and was the son of the late Emma Jean Henderson and the late Rev Meredith H. Henderson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents Rev. and Mrs. W.E. Abrams. Kevin was a member of Tuckaseege Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and barbecuing. As a young adult, Kevin worked as an EMT and Volunteer Firefighter with the Indian Head Fire Department in Indian Head, MD and trained as a medic in the U.S. Navy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Melanie Henderson Dohm and husband Terry of Columbia, SC and brother, Bruce Henderson and wife Mona of Ormond Beach, FL, numerous cousins, and Roland Henderson, his uncle of LaPlata, Maryland. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to caring neighbors, long-time friends and the pastor and congregation of Tuckaseege Baptist Church for their compassionate concern during his life. Kevin often quoted his church’s motto: “We exist to demonstrate love in action through loving God completely, ourselves correctly, and others compassionately.”

A service to celebrate Kevin's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Tuckaseege Baptist Church, Mount Holly, NC. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
