Larry Wayne Wyatt, age 79, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, TN surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Waynesville, NC, son of the late Jack Wyatt and Pauline Whitesides Wyatt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Sue Wyatt, his step daughter Rhonda Neese, as well as his sisters Marie Rudisill, and Donna Lemons.
Larry will be remembered as a loving family man who will be missed dearly. After retirement, he and his wife Pat moved to the Tennessee Mountains and enjoyed many road trips and being in the outdoors. He was a current member of Gum Stand Baptist Church, and loved to sing and play guitar in his spare time. His calling also came in the form of singing at local nursing homes to the residents which brought him joy. He also found happiness feeding his pet squirrel Rufus peanut butter crackers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Pat Wyatt; his children: Loretta Pilgrim (Nathan), Darrell Wyatt (Kristina), and Ashley Evans; his stepdaughter Tricia Schwartz (Jesse); his siblings: Judy Adams (George), Gail Kirby (Richard), Kathy Garst, and Bob Wyatt; his grandchildren: Matthew Fuller, Brandon Wyatt, Morgan Lynch, Noah Pilgrim, Philip Wyatt, Lexie Pilgrim, Logan McNeely, Savannah Neese, Annabelle Schwartz, and Mae Schwartz; as well as 7 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday December 21, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly with Pastor Ronnie Pressley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
