Lela Jane Williams, 79, of Gastonia, followed in her sons’ footsteps, knocking on Heaven’s door on January 31, 2026.
Jane left behind a love that can never be replaced. Her love was always present, even when life’s circumstances did not allow her to share it as fully as she wished with those she loved most. She was the best grandmother, a loving mother-in-law, a loyal listener, and a giver of advice—whether you wanted to hear it or not. She would always help you out in a pinch when needed.
Jane was born in Belmont, NC, to the late Jessie and Edith Wentz Williams. She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Mike Trull, Matt Trull, and Kevin “Tootie” Trull. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her seven siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter-in-law, Deanie Watts; grandchildren Kevin Trull (Kierston), Kalie Trull (Brandon), Matthew Trull, Marissa Trull, and Tara Sigman; two precious great-grandchildren, Rhylee and Macy; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane is now reunited with her mother and all three of her boys, whom she missed dearly and often spoke about, longing for the day she would see them again. The boys met her at the gates, already fighting for her attention, eager to tell her all about their reunion with their grandmother and share every story.
She will be deeply missed, but she is now whole again—no more struggles, no more worries—back where she belongs with her family.
Jane raised three wonderful boys. Though one was just as hard-headed as the other, no one could ever knock the smile from her face when she talked about them.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
