Linda Sue (Johnson) Gunter

Linda Sue Johnson Gunter, 80, of Denver, North Carolina, met Jesus face to face on September 5, 2024.

She was born in Gaston County on July 2, 1944, daughter of the late George Webb Clippard and Rebecca Louise Thornburg Clippard; and was preceded in death by her husband David R. Gunter, two brothers Ricky Clippard and Michael Clippard.

She was a praying Christian mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who served her community and missions globally and was a dedicated member to her church, Lakeside Church in Denver.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lynn Sapp and husband Robert of Mount Holly, David R. Gunter II, and wife Linda of Lavonia, GA, Susan Haney and husband John of Mount Holly, Johnathan Gunter and wife Melissa of Mount Holly, Matthew Gunter and wife Tracy of Asheboro; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, a sister Nancy Haggins of Gastonia, and a brother Donnie Clippard and wife Rene of Dallas, NC.

Funeral services conducted by David R. Gunter II, Johnathan Gunter, Rev. Matthew Gunter, and Rev. Jason Collins will be held on September 14, at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeside Church, 6636 Pine Ridge Dr., Denver, NC, 28037.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly, NC.
