Linda (Chastain) Miller

Linda Chastain Miller, age 75, of Iron Station passed away on July 23, 2022 at Atrium Health-Lincoln.  She was born in Rabun County Georgia and was the daughter of the late Ray and Margie Pope Chastain.  Linda will be remembered as a devoted preacher's wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dog mother.  She taught Sunday school for many years at New Road Baptist Church and also Welcome Baptist Church where she was adored by all of her students.  In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crafts, and especially spending time with her grandchildren who she loved dearly.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two granddaughters: Kayla Miller and Crystal Smith, as well as four brothers:  Homer, Jerry, David, and Tommy Chastain.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years George Miller Jr., three children: Eddie Miller, Melinda Smith (David), and Sandra Mull (Mark) three brothers: Larry Chastain, Bob Chastain (Lisa), and John "Pebbles" Chastain, her grandchildren Johsua Smith, Amber Bumgardner, Thomas Duncan, Caitlin Duncan, and Alissa Mull, her step Grandchildren Carrie Mull, Mark Mull Jr., and Kevin Mull. 13 step great grandchildren as well as her beloved Ally the Pomeranian.  A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday July 28, 2022 at Welcome Baptist Church in Stanley with Pastors Cecil Spry and Kay Eckstein officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday also at the Church.  Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
