Linda Payne Mullis went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born March 18, 1941, in Gaston County to the late Clarence C. Payne and Ruth N. Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Mullis; her son, Jeffrey Mullis; her brother, Ronnie Payne; and her sister, Cheryl Allred.
Linda is lovingly remembered by her granddaughters, Hannah and Courtney Mullis; her grandson, Tyler (Elizabeth) Mullis; and her great-grandchildren, Levi and Raelyn Mullis. She is also survived by her brother, Doug (Nancy) Robinson; sisters Alice Payne Rushing, Margaret (Dave) Owens, Rachel (Gerald) Koehler, Debra Caldwell, and Kathy Layne; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Linda was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Mount Holly and loved her church family. She enjoyed working at her business at Metrolina, where she made many friends, and she was a dedicated volunteer with the Red Cross. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank all family and friends for their compassion and care during this time, and we are grateful for your presence today as we honor Linda’s memory. God bless you all. Celebration of Life: March 18th 2026 at 1pm at First Baptist Church, Mount Holly, NC with an interment following at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:00pm prior to the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Mt. Holly in memory of Mrs. Mullis.
