Linda (Russell) Rankin

Linda "Sissy" Russell Rankin, 77, of Denver, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at her home.  She was born in Gaston County to the late Nathaniel Smith Russell and Virginia Davis Russell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, and brother-in-law, Dianne and Eddie Hoffman.  Linda retired from banking after serving the Mount Holly community for over 45 years.  She enjoyed vacationing with her family to the beach and to Florida, and especially loved spending time with her grandkids.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 56 years, Bill Rankin; her son, Chad Rankin, and his wife, Sharolyn; and her grandchildren, Stowe and Adolyn Rankin.  The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ann Marie Elrod for her special care to Linda and Bill during these last days and also to the staff at Southern Oncology and Lincoln County Hospice.  A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  The family will greet guests from 12:30 until 1:30 at the funeral home, prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, P.O.
