Lloyd D. Baucom (Doug), age 80, of Marion, NC, left this world to walk in glory on April 20, 2021. He passed away peacefully in his home. He was a wonderful man and a true follower of Christ. He touched the lives of many and made it his goal to make someone smile and laugh each day. He was known to be a charmer who loved to tell stories and share his knowledge and guidance with others. He enjoyed blue grass music and woodworking. He retired from the City of Charlotte NC, with 30 years of service. He was a small engine mechanic for 15 years and an auctioneer for more than 20 years. He was born on December 22, 1940 in Charlotte NC, to the late Alma and Clyde D. Baucom, He is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Tommy and Carolyn Baucom, his wife of 42 years, Edith Baucom, wife Velma Krause-Baucom and stepson, Kevin Krause. He is survived by his daughter Jatana Lake and her husband Steve of Millsboro, DE, son Ricky Baucom and wife Angie of Marion, NC; grandchildren Nina Garrett, Kristina Thomas, Megan Delzer, Jamie Greenfield, Carl (Doug) Baucom, Ryan Vaught, Brian Baucom and Claudia Baucom; 7 great-grandchildren; stepsons Gary, Dean and Ken Krause and their families; and his lady friend and companion Margaret Sisk and family. The family will greet guests Friday, April 23, 2021 from 10:30 until 12:00, with a service to immediately follow, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 375 Woodlawn Avenue, Mount Holly. Interment will conclude at Berryhill Baptist Church, Charlotte.
