Loretta (Keziah) Brown

Loretta Keziah Brown, 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late John and Cimille Deese Keziah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Eugene Brown; her son, Gary Lynn Brown; and her brothers, Tommy Keziah, Bobby Keziah, and Eddie Keziah.

Loretta was an avid bowler, loved to cook for family & friends, loved watching Atlanta Braves baseball and Golden State Warrior basketball. She loved watching cowboy shows and movies, eating lunch with her A&E girls and dinner with her Friday girls. Loretta especially enjoyed lunch with her family chauffeur after doctor appointments.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, Ricky Brown (Donna), and Pamela Brown Skidmore; her grandchildren, Kathryn Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Joshua Brown (Taylor), Leyna Brown, Jessica Clemmer (Joseph), and Mark T. Hoover, Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Layla, Alina, Mauer, Harlan, Niall, Jovie, and Kollins; a number of nieces and nephews; her best friend, Peggy Lanier; and her fur baby, Mister.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Brown will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the First Methodist Church of Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
