Lucia Chavis Obituary

Lucia Delores "Dee" Chavis, 71, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Rev. John R. Newton and Lucia Blanton Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John R. Newton , Jr.

Mrs. Chavis is survived by her loving husband of 15 1/2 years, Kennth Chavis. He remembers her as an incredible wife and mother to her children. She is fondly remembered by friends and family as being a "truly sweet and wonderful lady." She is also survived by her children, Chad E. Davis, Kenneth Chavis, Jr., Karen N. Chavis (Joe), Robert L. Chavis, and Sarah L. Chavis; and a host of grandchildren and friends who were considered family.
