**Obituary for Margaret Evans**
**July 24, 1937 – December 16, 2025**
Belmont, NC – Margaret Evans, a cherished resident of Belmont and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in North Carolina, Margaret was the inspiration of her family for over eight decades. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving parents, Earl B. and Coralee Coffee Miller, her devoted spouse, Earl Evans, and six dear siblings: Nolan Miller, Jean Carpenter, Francis Carpenter, Thomas Miller, Basil Miller, and Bobby Miller. Their spirits have welcomed her with open arms into the next chapter of her heavenly journey. A proud alumna, Margaret held an associate degree and put her administrative skills to dedicated use working for the Department of Labor. Margaret's legacy lives on through her children, David and Darlene Evans, Donald Evans( Misty) , and Susan and Buddy Radford. Her love and kindness also shine brightly in the lives of her eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was also survived by a dear sister, Mary Spicer and a brother in law Rev. Jim Evans.
Margaret was a wonderful cook celebrated for bringing loved ones together over home-cooked meals and a famous coconut cake. Her charitable spirit was evident in her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels for Hospice, and she touched countless lives by sending thoughtful cards to friends and family for all occasions—a testament to her generous heart. Margaret’s life will be honored with a funeral service at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Holly, NC, on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:30 am .Rev. Jim Evans will be officiating the service. The family will greet guest an hour prior to the service for a visitation.
An interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens. The family invites all who knew and loved Margaret to join them in remembering and celebrating her life. Serving as pallbearers are her beloved grandsons and family friends: Steven Evans, Jacob Evans, Holden Evans, Alan Miles, Brandon Radford, and Austin Morris. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Margaret's memory to Via Healthcare. Arrangements have been kindly provided by Woodlawn Funeral Home. Margaret’s love, warmth, and generosity will continue to inspire and comfort her family. She will be deeply missed and eternally cherished by all who were privileged to know her.
